Sandy
My condolences. I know the last several years have been tough and Don was not always "his old self" but I'm also sure it's painful for you to lose him. I hope and expect that over time you'll find comfort in his passing.

I am grateful to have shared that last boat ride with Don and Sandy. I hadn't seen my old neighbors in years. Always enjoyed stepping outside and seeing Don. Always assured of a lively conversation. He will be missed and forever remembered. My thoughts and prayers are with you Sandy.

Sandy, Mom and John, I was so sorry to hear about Uncle Don's passing. While I feel very bad about not being around my family, I feel very fortunate to have the memory of him when he was younger and full of life. I can remember being so impressed with his business, in the old Turn Style mall, when I was just a kid and wanting to own my own business one day. He also helped me learn early negotiating skills when he sold me my '74 T-Bird at Lakeside, when I would have easily paid too much money at age 17. We didn't spend much time together but I remember the B-Ball games he came to and how he made time for both my graduation and wedding. While it may sound corney now, he really did inspire me to do better in my younger business days. I will miss him dearly and will never forget him. My wife Sheri, son Jace, and myself have prayed for all of you daily during this very difficult time.

Fifty plus years ago Don and I were stationed in Germany while in the U.S. Army. We were good friends and traveled together for several weeks driving through about eight countries. After being discharged we visited each other in our respective communities. He was a good honorable person whom I will never forget. My prayers are with Don's family at this difficult time.
