Condolences
Barb (Boatright) Bartison friend/neighbor/classmate January 3, 2011

I was so sorry to hear of Don's passing.  My family and his family lived about a block from each other during our days at Woodrow Wilson.  Bob was in my class and Don was one year older.  We all had fun meeting at Shoemaker's on W. fAirview Ave.  It was "the place to go" back then.   Many good memories of those days and it is so sobering how fast time passes.  You and your family have my most sincere sympathy.

Sandy, I didn't know Don well in high school, but always knew he was a class act.

My heartfelt condolences to you and your family.  We will be lifting you up in prayer as you face the difficult days ahead.

My Mother and I were so sorry to hear of Don's passing. Although we had not seen Don for many years there was a sadness in our hearts. I have many wonderful memories of babysitting for Cherie. I will never forget riding in Don's convertible..I believe it was a blue corvair. May he be blessed to eternal life with Cherie. Our condolances to the family.

Ok we all make mistakes when we aren't thinking correctly when writing sometimes "Cherie". Sandy I wish i could have stayed longer and you will always be in my thoughts.

My deepest apology that I didn't post anything here sooner because this isn't easy to write as it was extremely hard to be there today at the funeral. Sandy we are deeply sorry and wish i/we could have been there more in the past few years. My family and I knew Don, his daughter and you (Sandy) very well and considered you all as a part of our family. Don was like a uncle to me and you were like a aunt and Christie was like a big sister and I remember her like it was yesterday. As i was younger growing you both were always there. I always got a diecast antique car from you both and believe it or not I still have them all and some day i'll pass them on to my son with the stories behind them. I don't know how many can say this but i got my 1st car from Don. I actually got my 1st and 2nd car (74 vw beetle/79 firebird) from Don at Lakeside and I have to say he was one of the few real "honest" car salesman out there. He loved his cars and loved everyone around him. His strong voice, laugh and firm handshake will forever be with me. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

Sandy, please accept our condolences and know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. It's been a long, difficult road these past few years, but you did it with class and were always there for Don.

Sandy

Please know Steve and I are thinking of you.  We are so sorry to hear of Don's passing.  Our travels took us away from Decatur and we did not get to know Don, but the condolences and the online slide show tell us what a great guy he was!  Take care.

Love You,

Steve and Casey Tulo
